A stunning example of new home construction by Kraft Custom Construction has been featured in Portrait of Portland magazine.
“Happy Trails” details the planning and creation of a 3,000-square-foot house in the hills outside of Dallas. The dream home is surrounded by 80 acres and breathtaking views of the Rickreall Creek Valley and the Coast Range.
From the outset of the project, the clients were clear they wanted to form a special relationship with KCC owner Robert Kraft. He was more than happy to oblige.
“Of course, we talked about site details, renderings and budgets,” he said of his initial meetings with the couple. “But we talked more about business philosophy, problem solving and communication styles. We took the time to define what success looked like in terms of the final house and the relationships, and what each party needed to make that success happen.”

The final result for this new home construction project is a beautiful mix of Northwest coziness with splashes of modern style and a touch of Asian sensibility. The homeowners wanted a seamless transition from indoors to outside, so the project included a staggered footprint to allow both the master and guest suites to have access to the outdoor courtyard and its many entertaining spaces.
Inside, the couple chose many natural wood features, and they say they don’t plan to cover the walls with décor that will compete for attention with the many beautiful finishes. Read the Portrait of Portland Article in Full
